If you're worried you got one that broke and was stuck back together: don't. All of them are like that. As far as why.. who cares, as long as it works?

 

It works fine, I was just wondering the reasoning behind it, if any. I have seen others the same way, but the tactrix cables don't appear to be manufactured like that.

 

I did that on purpose. That is a quick-disconnect connector. You can remove the second connector this way if you are only interested in logging, or were using the cable with some Subaru vehicles, for example, and didn't want the second connector dangling around.

Just to get this clear, you say to remove the WHITE connecter if we are only interested in logging. Correct?

 

Is the cable for the EVO's the same as the one for the 3rd Gen Eclipse or it a different cable ?

 

The Evo and 3rd Gen cable are one of the same

Insurance, insurance, insurance. It cost me $2.35 to insure the package, but i'm only charging you guys $2.00... so it should be your advantage to get it. One package shows "delivered" by the USPS Priority Mail, but the buyer never got it... and of course, Murphy's Law prevails once again - no insurance was purchase...
