What to use for DataLogging
The evoscan will log much more than the pocketlogger from what i understand. The main thing im concerned with is logging knock, which to me is key for tuning safely on top of afr.... I do hope this works well, it sounds awesome from the thread on openecu.org. Wont be long until we find out
Yeah I've been looking for a decent datalogger for my Evo for about 3years, this should be good for Evo enthiusists, no longer will we be constrained by expensive tools for datalogging and ecu modifications to the factory ecu, the factory ecu has everything we need to increase performance of our vehicles.
The EvoScan tool is going to be the best ever free opensource tool for logging/charting/displaying/ playingback of every possible sensor.. including knock/o2/g-force/rpm/speed/torque and so much more...

So the vinshu knock buffer (whatever its called) for knock... What can I get for timing? I just spent 600 on the complete ZT2 kit so I'm looking for something fairly cheap that I can plug into this system.
i been looking around for so many diff dataloggers but i still have a feeling like i want to use my utec as just for that, and then have the flash for the car. cheap and if every wanted to i can use utec to turn the car for other maps then just the flash. sick and utec with tuner pro has loads of inputs and outputs

Here is a PDF that explains the product features of the Innovate product line:

It seems that the LMA-3 does log timing. Although you have to give up one of the "internal" sensors:
"The AuxBox also includes 5 external inputs for connecting external sensors in lieu of the internal sensors. This allows users to log data from external sensors like TPS or suspension data."

It would be great if Colby and the gang would purchase one of the .NET 3D graphing controls to include in the project!!!! Some of these modules are the shizit. It would be great to see maps and data logs in 3D.
the Innovate DL-32 looks really good.......32 channels of data recording and 17 Minutes of recording per MB of SD card capacity........... with a 250mb sd card u could log for over 2 days strait without a labtop..........
My EvoScan programming has only been going for 2 weeks and I've nearly finished..
Yes I have had a request to add LC1 support for the datalogger, that is easy as.
Any other feature requests, feel free to leave a post on my thread at OpenECU.
my EvoScan software is not associated with Colby or OpenECU, I just happen to have updates being posted there about my software. It would be nice if I could get some support from Colby(tactrix/openecu) and Jason, I haven't as of yet. I am only programming it on my own, along with 1 beta tester.
My post about the software shows that I am already using the latest antialiased 3d graphing tools for .NET which will blow away any existing logging software around
My EvoScan software will log 100-200 data items per second, possibly even 1000/second if I get some Assembler programming support from someone. All from the factory ECU! And you can even make yourself a homemade cable to work with the software if you like, its nothing too hard. I will create a website after the initial release with how-tos
