It looks like he's just cutting down his logs to compare with the rpm scale of the maps.

Just did a little more tuning before dinner, man this stuff is addictive.

I am blown away with how smooth and knock free my car is now. Below is a 10 second blast up a hill in 5th gear, boost was pegged at 1.5bar the whole time. The temps here are 95* and the humidity is 100%, about as bad as it gets.

As you can see there is only one count of knock this entire pull (that little dash just above the 1.95 on the X axis), and it didn't effect timing what so ever. This was the last pull of the day after the car was beaten on for a good hour. I now have a tune I'm 100% confident makes power and is SAFE for any driving condition I might encounter.

I hope to see others posting up their logs as well real soon.

Do you feel like taking a drive out to Michigan and help out a fellow boosted Lancer? That log looks incredible. Glad to see that this software is being put to some very good use. I hope others are also able to get some great maps.

if you were close I would do it for sure. If you have any questions just post them up (might be wise to make a new thread though) and I sure someone will answer them.

This happened to me too. My registration validation email got stuck in the spam or bulk folder. Look and ye shall find. This sucks as I know openecu.org are not spammers. Oh well.

ok, does the ECU+ show knock like the EVOScan software?

If you can do some logs 3rd & 4th gear pulls with the EVOScan software and send them to me along with your current ECUFlash file I would be more then happy to review them for you and give you my suggestions/comments.

Nope, it shows it by voltage. My current tune is fine, done on the dyno, tweaked on the street, logged, and tweaked again on the dyno.

I have to wait until I upgrade to a better tuning laptop (current is 500mhz win98) that runs XP to run EVOscan and do some logs. I really like how it shows it by knock count.

Been tuning this way for awhile. I am also waiting until the EVOscan software gets past beta.

I did my current tune on the dyno also, picked up a good bit of power too. The problem was I was knocking big time (12 counts in some places) and didn't even know it until I used the EVOScan software. If your happy with the tune then thats great. I would only suggest that you try the method posted above with those two tools. You have at a minimum 15 to lose but so much more to gain.

From looking at your logs you posted above I would guess that your knocking in the 3-4k range since your timing goes down to 4* in that area but you don't have it mapped that low.

Trust me, I am sold on EvoScan. I just need a better laptop.

Yea, I get a couple 1 degree pulls here and there every once and awhile. The tune is pretty aggressive but the pulls are pretty consistant. This is three pulls, back to back, on 91 octane, in a room that was 100F+ ambient:

I logged one of my runs and it showed me +1 knock from 6100 - 6400, I was just wondering if it was a fluke so I ran it again 30 min later and it did not knock at all. I am assuming it was just a fluke, but who knows. Hey alwaysinboost how did you correct the timing, did you change the data xml file from x - 10 to x - 20?

wow, great progress, are there going to be any plans to intergrate a wideband on a 0-5v scale? i think that would be key! And also how are you guys logging your a/fs outta curiosity?

thanks

Evo4Mad has said he does intend to integrate the AFR feature of a wideband, but it would not be through the ECU or ECUFlash cable, but you'd have to hook up your wideband to your PC like you normally would (RS232 or whatnot)

I'm waiting for him to release the sourcecode so I can update my dashboard app to integrate his data with my TurboXS tuner pro logging..

I'm really just interested in sample code for intitializing the data stream and reading it.. but I want to improve HIS work for the benefit of the community, hopefully contribute stuff for him to include in his app..

Colby will be adding logging and possibly map tracing into the ECUFlash app, but he wants to use the shared memory window to get his data from, which is what the MUT3 diagnostic mode should be using. This should allow him to retrieve the actual load calculation value directly from the ECU in real time, possibly even alter some settings in ram to test things before committing it to the flash..

AMS has a MUT3 unit, and one of those guys should contact Colby and see what sort of data he needs from it, I don't have access to one here, and I certainly don't have the funds or motivation to buy one of my own (though I'd like to)
