Being frustrated and all, i borrowed my sisters new Sony VAIO with Windows XP and installed everything on her laptop. Without hesitation BAM it synced up and it was all good. Only problem is that its not my laptop and i cant access it anytime i want. I had everything from file paths to com ports in my laptop set correctly and still NO GO on Windows 2000. Are there any differences between the 2 OS that is screwing up the install?

i have tried both removing and re-installing through the device manager and it still wont seem to work. That is what bugs me most is that i know it should work for the windows 2k pro but for some odd reason its not communicationg properly. I tried connecting to the logging software but that didnt work either. Maybe i should try removing all the files including logging software and try re-installing everything again.

Its possible its your USB port, I haven't tested it on the older laptops, but every platform I tried works fine.. its possible you have a USB1.0 or 1.1 port..

Good job figuring that out.
That's good to know if I run into problems with my old
windows 2000 powered Fujitsui laptop with a Pentium 133.

Have you tried going to :

Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Universal Serial Bus Controllers > ...

Do you see OpenPort 1.3 Mitsubishi ?

If you open ECU+ locally on your own laptop and open the EVO8JM9693 example
file does it work normally ?
