alky injection + 2 low/high maps

Is there anyway to use ECU flash to use the high octane/advance timing maps to tune for alky and when alky is not present to switch to low octance (conservative map)?

I am trying to decide if I need to add more hardware to switch maps or if I can do it using existing hardware on the car.

No, but you can rescale you load axis and have a low boost tune, and high boost tune..

Since alky allows you to run higher boost, you mean that you adjust the load axis for that event?

Sorry about all the dumb questions... I am trying to learn this so I don't buy a bunch of crap I don't need.

I'd like to run alky only when I want to and use straight pump the rest of the time. I don't want to have to leave my laptop in the car for those moments.

I know I can setup a maftpro to switch on the fly, but I am trying to avoid having to spend that $600 if possible.

Opinions are greatly appreciated!

meaning have a load value that you would only hit with high boost in the same map? sorry curious what you mean

I know this a mad old Thread but I'm trying to understand High/Low Oct maps. I'm planning on installing my FP red and my Aqaumist kit this weekend and want to get it tuned for low boost 18-23psi and my high boost up to 30psi but I will be spraying 50/50 or 100% and I don't want to have to mod the ECU with Tephra cause I don't want to loose the immobalizer feature of my ECU. I just want to be able to turn on the Aquamist turn up my EBC to 30psi and wham High map without worrying my car is going to explode...lol

If someone could explain the high/low map to me I would appreciate it. I currently have a high/low map flashed on my ECU for 93 oct and C16

Well, the #1 reason for using Tephras patch with alky is the failsafing. Personally, saving my engine and using the 'valet mode' to protect me from car theft is a wiser choice. If your not gonna use Tephras patch I suggest just running two seperate flashes like you are now.

I agree. You should just get a cable, laptop and flashing is really easy.

Well I'm not too worried about the failsafe because my current failsafe is functional. It's just simple reduce boost via bypass valve. But I failsafed that to reduce boost also via the boost controller. So either way both will reduce boost to spring pressure. Listen I have nothing against the Tepra mod Jack if you recognize my user name we have gone through this before I love the tephra mod for ECU Flash. The only thing that sucks is I need the immobalizer. Without that I'm simply not interested. I would actually do it if i could afford it I would get lojack installed but right now I just can't swing it till at least next year. Oh well I guess I'm just going to have to reflash the ecu whenever I want to run high boost and meth.

I swear to you that is the only thing holding me back from doing a tephra mod to my ecu
