One last point...

Altering your timing at idle will alter the car's emissions.. Keep that in mind if the car is subject to being sniffer checked.. I don't have any data but you can actually use the EGR temp value in EvoScan to tune this to get the car to run cleaner...

 

Your prediction was wrong.

It has survived:
* 10 super high hp dyno pulls
* a tough test drive afterwards
* a 12 mile drive to the track with repeated 3rd and 4th gear pulls to test for problems.
* 3 launches with tire warm-ups banging off the rev limiter here and there, twice blowing off the licp. Weather conditions were deplorable with 148 degree track surface temperatures and a high air temp of 109 degrees. In other words, lots of very turbulent conditions where the MAF could have been ripped and torn apart.
* another 12 mile drive home with a more pulls under boost.

And the screen is still in perfect condition...

 

Update to my post above, with pics.
I raced again yesterday with no problems with my maf screen or with ECUFlash. I ran an 11.0 at128mph. Here a re a few pics for anyone that might doubt that the stock maf can survive. All Alfred@Tuning Technologies did was glue it firmly to the housing.

I am starting to believe that if basic and fairly simple precautions are taken, the MAF screen will hold up just fine.

<----praying that nothing bad happens to the MAF. Since you have put so much time and money into your car, why not just eliminate the MAF so you dont have to worry about it?
