Your MAF honeycomb is about 13 miles from being crushed into oblivion.

^ even with all the preventitive measures he took? Is it just because of the airflow that it cannot handle?

Time will tell. I know of others that have used similar fastening methods and are on their 3rd MAF.

I already have a GM 3.5" maf with Maf translator in-hand in case of MAF screen oblivion...

the honeycomb in the maf becomes a restriction, same effect as putting your hand over a vacum cleaner, the suction will eventually pull the comb inward and crush it.

I kinda prepared for the inevitable very early on.. But everyone already knows this, I feel the stock ECU can control an engine at any level of modification, it was the damn MAF that would be the downfall.. Only at the time there were no alternatives that people have tried so I kept hearing "Standalone this, speed density that" Well, hopefully all of this will prove otherwise..

A restriction? I thought it was already decided/agreed that the honeycomb provides very little restriction, is 580whp not proof enough? I was under the impression that the problem with running the honecomb is that at high boost it doesnt like to stay still...

Gimmee a break . This car spools up better than a 2.0 with a 50 trim, and pulls like a freight train to the end... Who cares about "without it?"
