I don't believe he said it was good or bad. just that a 'good tune' on the dyno will look different then a 'good tune' on the street which will look different then a 'good tune' at the track. I hope you understand this concept because I would hate to have to go against you.
My point is that Jack has a history of correctness and I was hoping that he would make himself clear.

The way a tune looks here, there or anywhere has absolutely nothing to do with the ignition timing numbers posted on that tune. It is knock city, period. I hope you can understand this concept. Everything else is irrellevent.

You can even tell from just looking at the dyno sheet, the wavy lines are the ecu always pulling and advancing timing.

8 degrees at peak torque on 91 octane is crazy talk. Sure it makes good peak numbers to brag to your friends and also since this tuner guarantees a pretty large gain for the money, it delivers on that promise, but at what price?

8* @ peak torque is likely -1 to 2 degrees with the 18 counts of knock it likely sees.

Haha yea, I doubt it hits target, maybe the first pull and the last pull after sitting cooling, but not every one inbetween.

Sounds like another tune I logged and retuned lately, target of 7 but never hit it, it was too busy pulling timing.

btw, the low octane map looks leaner then the high octane map.

I don't see that... The low octane map is untouched from stock. Where do you see that?

I'm not on a windows machine here at work so I can't double check right now but look at it compared to your high octane map, not stock.

I swear it is, I'm looking at tuned low vs. high octane now... and vs. stock- they're all the same! I'll wait 'til you're back on your other machine to harrass you further.

Look at tuned high octane vs tuned low octane, are the numbers leaner or richer in the low octane map compared to the high octane map?

I apologize if what I said was wrong, if it is, that's what I get for posting from memory and without the actual maps right in front of me.

They really are all the same... verified. Your advice has been otherwise impeccable, so don't let it get to ya.

You definately don't want the powerfc. There is no knock retard & no protection from detonation with that system as far as I remember.

Wow,

Looking at that timing map makes me feel a lot better about my tuning skill.

Still, there are times that people will post up a timing map that would have them running 2 or 3 degrees more timing than me at peak torque or up top and I have to admit, at times i start to question the numbers I am running.

But at the end of the day it's like someon else here said, there is no point in trying to force the car to run what you want to run, better to find out what the car wants to run and go from there.

Man, I would be pissed to pull that "custome" tune off my ecu after spending a whole day and shelling out money. Kinda looks like they just copied another tuners map and slapped it on there.
