Wideband tuning question
Well I think I'm done tinkering around with EcuFlash on my own and would like to do it properly and tune with a wideband. However, right now my car is bone stock and will probably stay that way until at least next year.
I have a friend who has a wideband, however since my exhaust is obviously stock I don't really want to bother with taking out the stock O2 sensors. Which brings me to my question; Is there any way to mount a wideband O2 in the exhaust temporarily for tuning? Would this even do any good if it were behind the cat and at the exhaust tip?
I've heard that when Al does a tune he is somehow able to temporarily mount an O2 on the customer's car for tuning. Is this something that can be rigged up somehow?
My other option is of course to do the E-Flash thing with Al, but I've heard that he's pretty busy right now so I thought I'd try and find out a little info on this first.
Thanks

That will cause a check engine light but I guess you could.

So having a check engine light is what is expected if I were to take my car to your shop?

You have about a 15% chance of throwing P0420, big whoop.

The readings with the cat were just about identical to the readings with the test pipe. The only difference was that the cat would smooth out the reading a bit, where the display wouldn't jump around as much.
Eric
ya, just remove the rear O2 sensor and unplug it.
if you need help with wideband tunning, give me a call. i have used the zeitronix wideband with the ecuflash to tune my car.

Since you're running stock exhaust and plan on eventually upgrading - You can just remove the second O2 sensor to tune with temporarily and put it back when you're done. Easy enough to clear the code if one comes up.
Or if you have an aftermarket exhaust get a shop to weld in a second bung for a wideband O2 sensor. It's a cheap, easy and permanent solution.
