MIVEC voltage?

This is kind of out there but I wonder if anyone knows or has taken the time to see what voltage range the MIVEC solenoid operates on. I would assume that 0* on the map is 0v, but what is full advance? 5v maybe?

I would think that it is a pulse width signal with 0 = off and either 5v or 12v on

Well for what I am thinking it doesnt matter what the voltage is for any voltage between 0* and 30*, I am just curious if its 5 or 12 when its at full (30*). I surmised it would be one or the other. Thanks for the help though. It seems I need to do some R&D.

It is I believe a closed loop oil control system. So an operating condition of the solenoid valve (if that is what it is) will not tell you the state of cam advance.

Actually I am not after cam advance. There is a second load/rpm indexed map going to waste that can be used for an additional control. I am thinking that it can be used to run meth or nitrous. I am studying the pinout as we speak, but I was curious what the voltage is at full advance for running the triggers in other systems.

absolutely right

solenoid have 2 pins out, one connect to 12V and another one connect to ECU

if you want to view cam angle, you need to compare phase between crank position sensor and intake cam position sensor.

by the way if solenoid duty = 0% cam timing will fully retard (0deg advance)
solenoid duty = 100% cam timing will fully advance xxdeg advance (except low RPM because oil pressure not enough to push cam pulley)

My flash, TurboXS TBE with test pipe, drop in, and AVgas. Oh and 28psi with a UICP that was to blow off later that night (thought I checked everything in my car prep). I also removed the clutch restrictor which took some getting used to. The 12.62 was also ran with a 2.1 60' so there is alot more in the car. My 275's werent helping my launch any either. Someone in our group ran a 12.20 @ 113.35 that night with everything that I have but stock tires. Those stats will improve after wednesday night I promise.
