DSMLink calculates the A:F ratio from measured airflow and injector properties and readings. As long as your fueling is good and your airflow measurements are accurate, DSMLink's calculated AF matches WB values pretty accurately.

A lot of people used that in correlation with their WB readings to find out when there was a fueling or air metering issue, because the two would start to diverge or be off altogether.

EDIT: I just looked at the source code and it does what I mentioned. It uses more data, such as the specific gravity of the fuel and deadtime, too, but it basically just does what I mentioned above.

Can you express it in a useful formula? Its possible that data is already available to calculate from, but I suspect without a unclipped MAF value it might not work too well..
