Change MIVEC to JDM after tune?

Sorry guys, another noob question...

First, I do have a custom flash already. I was reading this thread about tuning MIVEC and someone posted the JDM RS map for MIVEC...would I be able to change my VVT map to match that, or will it throw off all of my other settings? I'm guessing it will throw things off, but I'm curious.

Thanks!

You can't tune around that.

You'd have to switch the MAF out for speed density.

Or swap to a blow-through maf setup, with the BOV installed before the MAF. Had that on my SR S14 for a long time. Kept blowing the rubber seals out of the Z32 MAF every 10k miles or so, but it ran well.

I did the exact same thing you did. I was told that it will lean me out on lower rpm, but it's not anything that I should be concern about depending on how safe my tune was, which is still rich. How you like the jmr rs map?

I haven't uploaded the new VVT map yet...I only made changes to mine in EcuFlash and saved it locally as a different name hex file - I'm afraid to upload it LOL

I did install and turn on my meth kit and did not increase my boost, so I believe I have a margin of safety to give this a shot and log it. I just wanted to see if anyone else already had similar experience.

Thanks!

And this is why you shouldnt do it. If you dont feel safe or feel that its something you wanna risk dont do it. Will it hurt the car? No, but if you dont understand the changes that are being made and what you need to do to work with them its currently beyond your level.

Its like trying to ski/board double black diamonds when you only feel comfortable on blue runs. If its above your level leave it alone for now.

Thanks John...that's what I figured, and why I didn't upload it.
