ECU Locked

OK, went to a friends house to have my Launch Limiter Raised and a few other things downloaded and he could NOT download!!

This is on a New Bone Stock IX! Now Evoscan worked fine in reading the ECU so it WAS connected OK..he just keep getting an Error Message saying check cables etc. I did a search and came up empty....Ideas????
This guy is an EXPERIENCED Tuner/Flasher (Alwaysinboost on the board) and he NEVER saw anything like this before -- Ideas????????????

Thanks In Advance

I had a similar problem. I found out my problem was that i had a loose cable in my OBDII port. You might wanna double check to see those cables are securely connected to the port.

If there is a comm error its because its not configured properly. EVOscan will configure automatically. Try setting the COM to another port or look and see whats there. It should show the cable if its working right. I havent encountered any problems downloading cars. I have flashed different ROMS (xml's) onto cars than they came with and had no probs.

Make sure in the Options>Port you click the openport 1.3 option. And then re-try, HTH.

everything was hooked up correctly because I was able to D/L & read the ROM image from the ECU. When I tried to re-flash the ROM with an adjustment to the stationary rev limiter it stopped in the middle and said there was an error and that I need to contact colby. Unfortunatley I installed the new version of ECUFlash since then and don't have a record of what the error actually was.

I wonder if anyone else experienced this before.

Each ROM has its own definition so if you try using someone elses flash without chainging the ROM information I don't believe it will work. Per my earlier recommendation (different post) -- contact John @ Jestrtuning --- his email address is:

He never said he was using someone else's flash. He said he was trying to lift the rev limiter. But here you are accusing him of "using" another's flash. Why are you doing that?
