MitsuLogger V1 Beta 3 to be released tonight!

Okay.. Version 1 Beta 3 is due to be released TONIGHT around midnight..

- Bugfixes to resolve issues with logging speed, you will be able to tune the speed
- Data Logging runs in a seperate thread now, this was done to allow different devices to log data simultaneously and update/read/write the logger at its own rate.
- Support for BEZ_Acceleration (Higher speed faster baud rate logging)
- Support for custom 16 bit (2 byte) Responses (Bez Mods for Load! YES REAL LOAD)

Releases will correlate with new functionality added to modified roms, additionally it will ignore these new values if you have a stock based rom.

New Features Due in this release but will definitely make Beta 4:

- Log File organization and categorization, the log directory can have project folders below it, you can use that to organize your roms and logs according to project (Client) name. (this might not make this release since there are quite a few bug fixes I'm working on)

- Project (Client) name will have associated configuration values so each folder can have different log speed, injector scaling, etc..

- Map Tracing using fixed axis from the client configuration file (no reading from the rom just yet) "Auto-Fill" timing values while driving..

MalibuJack,

One great feature to implement with the map tracing would be to highlight cells where there is knock present. I believe that I saw a screenshot of ECUTek a while back showing that ECUTek does this.

That would make it super simple to see exactly what cells need to be modified for a knock free tune. I believe (just going on memory from that screenshot) that ECUTek colored the cells in shades of red, the darker the red, the more knock occured in that particular cell.

Just a thought.

Eric

I used to like this feature on Ecutek, but it would overwrite if you went over that zone again. The logging on FC Datalogit was nicer still as it would log anything you wanted over the fuel or ignition maps. You could then select mean, min or max for the overlay. Max was useful for knock and for seeing the leanest you were in a zone. Colour coding these would be a bonus on top of that. What neither would do was do this on a log you'd saved and reloaded - only did it live. This was useful for tuning from the passenger seat, but it is nice to go back later too.

This is a great feature I'm looking forward to checking out. Would you be able to elaborate on how you derive at the correct load cells? I'm thinking that you are asking us to fill out a x/y table of our timing maps, and then you do a load calcuated lookup (after filling in the appropriate injector numbers) to match accordingly? How are interpolated timing numbers handled? I know this may be your own IP, so you may not share it, but was just curious!

Thanks again for all your great work!

Map tracing probably won't make it into Beta 3.. Too many issues with getting the 2 byte responses to work right without breaking other things.

However, the knock highlighting will show up.. I'm thinking I will use bonking to show the color more intense if the knock counts increase a counter in the cell.. And it won't "Decay" away. But this complicates it a little so it won't make this version.

The values will eventually get filled from the Rom.. The code to do that isn't quite far enough along.. YOu don't have to fill out anything except the axis data (again, once it can open and read the rom, it won't be necessary) During runtime, when maptracing is working, it will either fill the cells (if left blank) or trace the cells if it was filled from the rom.. Trust me it'll work cool and won't require any extra effort to fill the data.. ITs only a few revisions away.

Oh, and load at idle and low load is done using the 1C value, load at open loop is using the calculated load value, and if you are using "Bez Mods" to get 16 bit load in a modified rom, then it will use Actual 16 bit load.. However this is what complicated the Map tracing and hence why it probably isn't getting into this version.

This is a sample log, as you can see its a little more complex than the original EvoScan log format I was trying to stay somewhat compatible with.. As you can see its still a bit rough, this was done using demo mode at the moment..

They are internal RAM references that are used to lookup the fuel and timing maps. Bez Bashni on this thread http://www.aktivematrix.com/forum/vi...t=20&start=150 has found the MUT table which takes logger request IDs and decides which RAM address to output. He has also changed it so that the output is 2 bytes rather than 1 which should be able to give us high resolution logging of load to start with, then RPM and others to give detail and not overflow. The above is the first experimental attempt at logging the REAL load values.

I had a major problem today, so I won't be releasing anything tonight with the new features for the moment..

I take it back.. I'll have Beta3 out, but none of the new features made it in.. Just the bugfixes and 2byte response support for Bez_Mods...

Released as promised...

Test it out.. Logger should work right for the most part.. But who knows at this point..

None of the new features made it in, I spent most of the day working out logger bugs and getting 3 byte data (16 bit responses for Bez_Mods)

This logger should fully support logging 16 bit data now..
