So using boot camp or parallels is not an option when trying to log and use ecuflash?

I've verified: both work.

But still no support for widebands though right? Unless I run it off bootcamp/parallels?

I general? I don't know. There are dozens of different widebands available. One of them might have a Mac logger.

I suppose you could probably use the output wideband in one of the stock ECU inputs, then log with MacLogger. That would be...um...technical, however.

Ah, but running Evoscan/Ecuflash through bootcamp/parallels and I should be fine right? Have you had any experience running ecuflash/evoscan through bootcamp/parallels?

If so which, works better?

Sorry for all the questions, I just really want a MAC, but also need a laptop to tune and what not.

Yeah, I just said that.

see?

Although you don't really need parallels/windows for ecuflash, you may want it for logger tool XYZ (there are several of them). Mine (MacLogger) is admittedly limited, but hey it's free!

Yeah I only ask about parallels/boot camp so I can run Evoscan, so then I figure I may as well make sure that I can run Ecuflash and Evoscan at the same time in boot camp or parallels, which you've said I can so I'm SET! I'm friggin hyped!!

Thanks donour!!!

donour,

Which versions of ecuflash/evoscan did you use through parallels/boot camp successfully?

Ecuflash 1.32 was the last version I bothered to update to. The developer has a Mac though, so support is pretty good.

I haven't really ever used Evoscan. I have a license, but I don't really like it. I verified it worked about 18 months ago, but I usually use my own logger.

Yeah I just got v1.34 to work on my mac with an updated XML file to include JDM MAP and 2-byte, I'll be installing XP SP2 via Boot Camp tonight and will find out soon enough if Evoscan works on it. I've heard from another EvoM member that version .97 works but 2.0 doesn't. I'll see what happens.

Ecuflash runs natively on Mac.
