So all I have to do is have my serial to usb cable hooked up to my Zeitronics at the same time that I have my tattrix cable hooled up and I am logging with EVOScan and do the above?

Im confused.

I too am confused. Since I just ordered my cable today and will be downloading evoscan shortly, I have yet to actually view the software package. My assumption is that you get realtime graphs of selectable parameters (timing, MAF, duty etc etc) and that now you could also get an accompanying realtime graph of AFR vs rpm. Is this not the case? Do you have to log and then view later?

Also, it would be nice if there was a quick tutorial on how to interface the output of a uego, LM-1, plx, whatever into the serial cable. Also, if there are any differences if using a serial to usb converter. IMHO there is way too little info on this topic and this should definately be made a sticky if we can get a guide!

yeah you just plug them both in, just that you will run into problems with cheap usb-serial converters, you may have to try a few com port configurations for windows to successfully see it. I am going to create a wiki site for EvoScan and tuning one day soon.

You connect the wideband unit to your computer and make sure you can specify what serial port it is connected to. You then select that serial port in EvoScan and follow the instructions above to log. In other words to use EvoScan and log wideband you need to connect both the tactrix cable and wideband to your computer.

Here's a question for you PLX R-500 owners (myself included). What's the point of hooking up our wideband to log wideband through EvoScan when we already can log pretty much all the important parameters through our unit already? ie map boost, egt, afr, knock, rpm, tps, speed, and x-y axis (assuming you have all the harware to set these up)? We even have built-in knock amplication.

EDIT: Rethought what I said and I guess you can't log everything through the r-500 so if you're **** and need all parameters on the same output, integrating it with evoscan would allow one to do that.

yeah but then how do you get map support and stuff like that. there's only so many serial ports. eventually you have to have a log box.

Most products now are a box or have a box that you can log multiple inputs from. The Innovate products use a serial chain as well as add-on 'boxes', so that only one port is needed to log as many sensors as you want.

All of their products have a serial in/out, so the last device plugs into your PC for logging all of the devices in their chain. I use the SSi4, which gives 4 0-5V loggable inputs, to log my GM3.3 bar and I use their LC-1. One serial connection to the PC logs both and I have 3 more open inputs to log 3more sensors when ready.

I am still looking for an answer on logging a PLX M-300. I know that the unit has a 5v source that needs to see a 0-5v source to log.

Does anyone know of such a source within the OEM ECU to allow this? And if so can the EVOscan find it and scan it?

Thanks

Anyone? I can't imagine this not being possible with all those brainiacs out there

Innovate has a 0-5v input converter, you could buy one of those.

Does anyone have a technical document on the PLX USB unit?

Hamish,

here is the link to cobb forum where they have m-300usb spec link.
http://www.cobbforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1

i also have a question for you, send you en email about EvoScan upgrades, i bought the software last year, never used it and would like to upgrade it to .97 or .98 where do i get the software?

in meantime i did get the tactrix cable and wanted to log and get the following messages when trying to start loggin (with car running)

Info: Initialising At 5 baud 0x00...
Info: Initialisation Complete...
Info: Waiting for INIT Response...
Error: FTDI Read Timeout
Info: Datalogger Ended.

I am however able to read ecu rom image using EcuFlash

Whats up with that? I appreciate your help and you can send me link to software upgrade to subie@pltek.net. (i might have ordered it using paypal account under lamps@art-pol.net and this email is no longer valid

Thanks
