no problem. i've run those for 35K miles without a hitch, same gap and everything at 22-23 psi. i had a brief 1K mile stint with the coppers and my car didn't respond well to them at all, so i'd say you're making a good decision based on my experience.

i recently had a fixin to figure out what all the spark plugs are about and this is what i discovered. In reference to iridium plugs, B im assuming means Car, K means small 5/8" socket for installation, P means 13/16" socket size for installation, R i dont know, 7 = heat range(obviously), E i dont know, and IX = Iridium.

In reference to copper plugs, B = again i think means car, P instead refers to Protruding electrode tip as opposed to meaning socket size used for install, R/E no idea, and S im 90% sure means Copper.

The plugs i compared to gauge my educated guesses were, B7ES, BR7ES, BPR7ES, BPR7EIX, and BKR7EIX.

P is in reference of the protruding tip so the br8eix is simply a non-protruding variant of the plug.

So the 05's come with iridium plugs. Should I get the bpr7EIX or bpr7ES?

all evo's come with iridiums. try a non protruding tip eix in whatever heat range you prefer and you'll like it.

.027 is usually the largest gap I rock for around 22/23 psi but if you're not getting blow out and the car pulls with a proper afr then go with what you can get away with

Im at 21-22 psi but am getting a custom tune soon. Should I change it to .027? I went with .028 because that was the OEM spec min.

Would irridiums have less flame propagation delay by any chance?

Once noted a direct 1 -2 psi boost drop just from swapping to the BPREIX. The only thing I can think, ignition wise, that can cause this from just a plug is shorter ignition lag - which is the same as ign advance. This'l raise cht's but lower turbine inlet temps dropping boost.

So i'm using non-protruding plugs right now. And i've been reading some stuff on plugs and a lot of places say that a protruding tip ignites the flame in a more optimal place of the chamber making for a quicker burn. Essentially this is what we all strive for - quicker burn. (which means you'll get the same timing at a smaller ignition advance - a good thing)
So i'm thinking about switching back to protruding one.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?
