EcuEdit - Impressions

I bought this software and i like it a lot.

It allows you to log just about anything (including wb02's - zeit just added). It has a real-time dash (like other sw's out there), but the beauty of it is once you have logged whatever you need, you can then load up the log in the same software and graph it for analysis.

The one setback of most of the sw's that i have use out there (and no disrespect to anyone developing them) is the lack of analysis functions.

Another feature is that you can open up your rom and it will trace in your map according to where you are in the log. No flashing abilities yet, but they are supposedly on their way.

Anyway, anyone that would like to check it out go to: http://www.epifansoft.com

I like it. I know its not free, but its fairly reasonable.

Again, no disrespect to anyone working the other softwares, I like the features and usuablility in this one and I just thought i would voice my opinion. Fwiw.

It's what I've been using to tune. I like it a lot.

I happen to agree with you guys, but I have found that aside from the map tracing, it was too difficult "As a tuner" to use with multiple maps and settings, especially dealing with load calculations and whatnot.

The analysis tools are okay, but are overall similar to what I've already used with DataLogLab and other tools I use.

EcuEdit definitely worth the money though and encourage people to buy the tools to do the job right.

When it comes to MUT logging, the only reason I keep working on my own tools are simply because everything else has shortcomings limiting usability for what I need for myself. The fact that It can benefit others is just a side-effect..

You are the one that I did not want to offend with my post at all. I think what you have built is a great tool, and what you do for the community cannot be overrated.

So far I haven't done any tuning with ecuedit, just logging. I just like that the analysis and logging is all-together and i don't have to learn a new software (dll) to read what i have logged. And tbh, i think i like the graphing and analysis better than dll, but i admittedly have not spent the time to learn dll to the fullest.

I can understand that.. having integrated tools is always a benefit, especially when your dealing with what might be a steep learning curve (which I take for granted since DLL is really easy for me to work with)

Generally my workflow works best with seperate tools, since the logging is typically done independent of the analysis, and the tools I use are already set up for my way of working.

My personal opinion of the program shouldn't matter, since I can't be viewed as unbiased since I have my own tools that I used. Only my experience playing with it, I didn't like how the calculated logging stuff worked and seemed inflexible when you had to deal with more complex sorts of conditions. I could be wrong however since I haven't spent much more than a few hours playing with it.

I have a large collection of more complete definitions for ECUFlash, than would be typically available, so to convert or re-do all of them for another program was just not an option for me.
