Tactrix cable problem...

OK,

I have a Tactrix cable and the wire that leads to the white connector came loose from the red crimp connector. Can I just recrimp using a new connector or is there something special about the connector that was used?

Probably a stupid question, but I'd rather be safe than sorry and I have been searching for about 45 minutes to see if anyone had similar issues but have come up with nothing.

thanks for any help, it's greatly appreciated.

Tony

You can re-crimp but I actually don't think that wire does anything on an EVO IX.

SophieSleeps,

Are you saying that I don't even have to hook up the white connector at all?

I thought that both the OBDII connector and the white connector (specific to Mitsu, correct?) needed to be plugged in to use either Evoscan or EcuFlash.

I think for the EVO 8 it needs to be connected but not for the EVO IX.
Not positive. Regardless, just re-crimp the wire to be sure.

if my crimped end came out, i wouldnt go the cheesy way and rechrimp. i would solder but right now im lazy (since my cable hasnt fallen apart)

but yeah i avoid those crimped ends like a bad habit cuz if they are slighty tugged often, they will come loose eventually

You need this cable for both the 8 and 9 in order to read or write the ROM. If you are not wanting to repair it yourself, you can send it back and we would be happy to fix it for you.
