Considering ECUFlash on my IX

Hello,

(Puts flame suit on)

New to this part of the forum and logging in general. Curious to know if the ECUFlash program will work with my AEM UEGO Wideband for logging and if so how it sets up. Also, I am considering getting an e-flash from DynoFlash and then perhaps making slight changes to it based on how it works to my particular car. Is this something a lot of people do or for the most part is it all self-tuning? If someone could elaborate I would greatly appreciate it.

Regards,

Justin

Not to speak in too broad of terms, but the Evo 9 responds very well to flashes. Most e-flashes available on this forum, Jestr, Dynoflash, TTP and etc will give you good gains over your base map. If you are a do-it-yourself type of guy - definetly start out with a vendor's map, it will help you understand what values were changed and why - from then on you can start logging and making small changes to see if you can squeeze out a bit more power.

EcuFlash is currently an editor. That is, it lets you read and change tables in your ECU's firmware. It is not currently a logger.

Some of the freeware/shareware loggers may support AEM, or you could use whatever software is offered by the wideband vendor.

Aktivematrix.com I believe has a really nice freeware logger. You can atleast start watching and logging your "knock" and other parameters.

I don't think MitsuLogger (aktivematrix.com) supports widebands... YET...

I want to be a DIY buy unfortunately I don't quite have the tuning knowledge to this point. I plan on doing very mild mods and then possibly just going with a base flash as you had mentioned. Hopefully monitor everything and learn as I go to see where changes can be made to make some small gains over the base flash that I end up purchasing.

Thank you for pointing out that it supports the AEM UEGO. Is there anything specific I have to do as far as wiring to ensure proper logging that the program receives the signal? Again I apologize for my ignorance but this part of the auto universe is still new to me. I'd rather ask and be flamed then not ask and break something

I am not sure Mitsulogger accepts AEM widebands at this time though.

Evoscan does however. Evoscan logging with wideband input is imperative in an owner understanding what takes place in the process.

PM us if you have any questions specific to your mods and flash.

Times are changing.. It will support a few select units in a maintainence release towards the end of January before an entire rewrite is released.

I don't have an AEM wideband or any logs from one so I can't work on support for it yet.

MJ,

If you would like once I have my car setup I can save and send you logs if you are interested in building support for the AEM UEGO. Please feel free to let me know, I'd be happy to do my part in helping to help you.

yeah if you get some useful logs out of it saved, let me know the baud rate and other important settings you used, and some sample data and I'll write a plugin for it.

I personally would highly recomend TTP, Jestr, or Sean Ivey in the way of base email flashes. Those guys have it down really well.

Ecuflash supports AEM, and sounds like MJ will have mitsulogger supporting it shortly. Nothing but good things learning how to tune your own car. Just dont go to crazy till you really have a good understanding of what you are doin.
