Which ignition map to change?

I did try to search and I couldn't find anything.

When reading through the beginners thread they are working on an Evo VIII. When I pulled the ROM from my IX there are a total of 6 ignition maps, not the 2 that are shown in the beginners thread. Which map does the car use and when?

Thanks

Change high octane ignition map 1, then copy and paste your changes to the other 2 high octane ignition maps. Thats what I do. Generally its said that the car uses map 2 mainly so thats the one to change. They are all the same from the factory, so I dont see the harm in changing all 3 high octane ignitions. Just leave the low octane maps alone.

they definitely are not the same from the factory....map 1 is for when the car is not at operating temp., map 2 is normal conditions operating temp reached and map 3 is limp mode map .... this is how i have understood things from posts in the past...

Changing map 1 and map 3 to be the same as map 2 is a good way to put holes through your block. Espically map 1

Ahh whats yo problem Bryan, you dint win...Woooo. But for serious, is that one of yours or some other unfortunate souls?

Topic- Change only the High octane map 2. This actually goes for any of the maps that have multiple examples. Boost is the same way, #2 is operating temp all conditions green.
