Ecuflash tuning question

Has anyone figured out how to set fuel and/or timing so it could backfire or pop at the two step, to build more boost off the line? Suggestions are appreciated.

Although I don't have an answer for this, post above is totally worthless and misinformed.

Especially since the ECUtek still uses the factory ECU.

Coming to terms with the question, I tried this earlier this year (I mean earlier last season-edit) and while I was able to build more boost off the 2 step it almost always lead to a bad bog on the launch. If you are after more boost at the same RPM, the stock ECU by itself doesnt seem to be able.

When I did this, I logged the 2 step to begin with to see what the variance in timing was. Stock the 2 step starts at about (varies) the 120-160 load%, though I narrowed it down to basically the 140. This makes sense as everything else being equal you would be at approximately .4 bar boost. Yes I know thats not how it works in real life, but it worked well enough with this test. Anyway, The timing variance at 5500 was about 20*.

I made some alterations that looked something like this:

I relogged the tune and saw that in fact I had increased the timing minimum to -12*. This worked great at building boost. I thought I was all set as I could build 14psi at 5500 like a champ. Then came the trip to the track. After consistent 2.02 60' times with MAJOR bogging after coming off the 2 step I went back to a stock map and ran a 1.70x no problem. I am not saying it cant be made to work, I just didnt get good results from it. In fact the next time I went to the track, I had better air and left like normal (albeit with a higher launch limit) and as soon as the engine loaded up on the launch I was getting full boost. So much and so fast I couldnt maintain traction off the line in fact.

I tried something similar with poor results as well.

I am new to this but tried to tune in more boost @ launch yesterday just messing around and had absolutely ZERO success...I think you have to tune the entire range to have any sort of success because if you surge/drop out of the tuned range you just bog and nothing good comes of it. I don't know if that's right or not but just my guess as to why I and maybe others are having issues.

The popping is from guys running a 6k 2-step with no cat. I run a cat and a 5.9k step, and I dont get that popping. I think it has everything to do with running a test pipe and free flowing exhaust though, since I didnt pop at 6k either. I like my 1.7 60s, so Im not complaining.

I run a test pipe but havent been throwing fireballs. I also was launching at 6375 last season, it'll be a little lower this year because of more power.
