XP is better than 2000 for ECUflash because you don't need to manually move dlls around, and the latest serial port drivers had probs on my old 2000 laptop. However, I only ran into probs to use the Universal cable to do a Subaru as well.

Otherwise my PII 300 96MB 4GB Thinkpad on Windows 2000 did fine for ECUflash and Evoscan, but my new cheapy Core Duo 1024 MB 120GB Fujitsu is much slicker to use.

just get an extension cord for your computer.. and put it right in your car... wont be able to log though... you do need a laptop for logging.. innovate sells a thing for 200 autobox i think... and it records logs onto an SD card

cheers!
