EcuFlash Dyno Tuned 328 awhp

I finally got my IX RS to the dyno today. Using EcuFlash for tuning and EcuEdit and Zeitronix (couldn't get it to communicate with EcuEdit) for logging I started out with a 298 hp baseline, peaked at 328 and finally settled in at 325 awhp.

Mods: Catless GReddy Evo II Exhaust with TurboXS downpipe, Forge MBC (~20psi) and WGA (wga is worthless imo, DO NOT buy one), HKS intake, and Samco hose kit. Everything else in the engine bay is STOCK.

I love using EcuFlash and am grateful for those that made it possible. Just wanted to give a big to all you that worked hard so we don't have to settle for a mail-in tune or a crappy piggyback.

I'll attach a copy of my map in case anyone wants to play with it. No secrets here, just the basic science of tuning that I have a decent understanding of. The MIVEC is pretty aggressive, but the car seemed to like it that way.

The mivec map was made by JohnBradley, I know he has spent A LOT of time on it. I originally didn't credit him for his work, and for that I apologize. Mivec is really what allow the IX to make as much power as they do on so little mods, and finessing that map is a work of art. Thanks John, and once again, sorry for over looking your credit initially.

Special thanks to Adam at Munoa Performance (Orem, UT) for always making time for my dyno shinanigans.

Below is the tune, DO NOT flash to your car directly without a wb o2 and some form of logging. It is posted for reference ONLY and I offer no warranty or guarantee that it will work on your car at all.

.hex file removed as per request. I will put it back up (minus mivec) when I get a final tune later today.

What's the deal with your High Octane Ignition Map 1?

Did you not tune your fueling? Your fuel map is stock.

Whats the reasoning of scaling your Mivec RPM like this:

500
1003.91
1507.81
2011.72
2515.62
3015.62
3515.62
4015.62
4515.62
5015.62
5515.62
6015.62
6515.62
7015.62
7515.62
8015.62

Not sure what you mean about the Ig map 1, can you ellaborate?

When i pull up my map it is not scaled that way. Is something funky in your defs perhaps?

The fuel was so close that I didn't feel it needed any changes, 11.6ish all the way to redline.

Why did you put more timing in ign map 1 and less in ign map 2. Map 2 is the main ign map. You also have 40* in load 0-30, rpm 2000 to 6000 on map 2 where stock its 35*

Not sure on the scaling as your map is using the same 88590015 file as the other 9 roms I have.

Maybe your rom got corrupted or something?

That MIVEC looks familiar.... Glad to see your numbers at only 20psi. Just a brief sidepoint, MIVEC advance above 30* doesnt move more than 30*, so the 31.2 is still just 30*. I am also seeing the +16rpm in all the scaling.

Map 1- warmup map
Map 2- warmed up, green light map
Map 3- warmed up, red light something is wrong map

I guess I didn't know what maps were used for what. Perhaps i should have done some more research about that...LOL.

I'll have to go through and see whats up with the timing on those maps for sure. You'll notice that map 1 is super low in the high end because i was trying to get rid of a little knock count, but now i know why my changes were not working! What ever happened to one fuel map, one timing map...lol.

The evo is a little more advanced than my turbo honda.

Thanks John. Yes that mivec map is mostly yours with a little tweak on the dyno. I'll have to re-open that map and see what is up with the scaling.

I know nothing over 30* makes any difference, but its kind of like having a guitar amp that goes to 11. 10 is pretty loud, but 11 is better.

Yeah, looks like it was probably good for an extra 10hp i suspect. Thanks again for the great deal. Let me know when you come down for the dyno, i'll swing by.

NP...better place to put comments sometimes (even though every now and again a public flogging is a good thing)
