how long of wait for flash
( im 19 i go to college and work at auto zone part time),
i have tested batterys that were on our shelf for over 6 months, and their starting voltage was still 12.6 ish where a brand new battery is at, i hit them with a load, and they dont drop any lower then newer ones.
dont get me wrong though, a little trunk light bulb on over night will kill a battery and that is a *Fact*.
Bring your battery down to the local auto zone, have them throw it on the charger for 45 min, then tell them to test it and hit it with a 500 cold cranking up load ( 500 cold cranking amps is more then enough to crank over a big block chevy).
If it drops down to a high 10.6-10.9 volts it is ok, if it goes any lower , one of the cells could be out.
