DSM Link Cable?
It's been a while since I have used DSMLink, so I'm going off memory, but I'm pretty sure the cable does not have the white connector to put the ECU in the proper mode for flashing.
DSMLink doesn't need it because you aren't flashing the ECU, but rather just altering the tune in the RAM.
