AFRMAP differs from fuel map too much

Typical values I get are like:

RPM /Fuel Map/AFRMAP/WB
3500 / 9.0 / 10.2 / 11.8
4500 / 9.6 / 10.5 / 11.4
5500 / 10.6 / 11.5 / 11.3
6500 / 11.1 / 11.5 / 11.0

Fuel map and AFRMAP should be exactly the same since they're calculations from each other, right?

Can any thing other than the ROM or EvoScan itself cause this?

Here are some logs, check out the phantom knock with first log, ID 4

All pulls are with water methanol at peak boost of 23 psi tapering to 21 psi (found that I knock less and go just as fast when I tune for lower boost - Thanks Jack)

It may be as simple as the loadcalc being off. So, the value that you are pulling from the fuel map isn't correct.

The AFRMAP value should tell you what cell you are in your fuel map. Or, if you want to double-check, look at your timing at a certain RPM and pull your load from the ignition map.

Problem is for most AFRMAP, there isn't one load cell that even comes close to the calc, especially in the lower rpm areas where I may have 9.0 across a load % of 180 to 280 for that given RPM.

I checked the ROM states 14.7*128/x,

the AFRMAP is reading a different leaner map than the one I made, - lol

I'ts almost as if it's using diesel do perform the calc

that would make things sooooooooo easy. i wish some1 could make a program like that... basically auto tuning... just put the a/f you want and it does it for you

cheers!

*What's "that"?

I was referring to the AFRMAPCalc to AFR map, not the AFR map to wideband reading dufus

You get free tuning software and free support via this forum and you're still not happy? Dammit man!

Wait...stupid question:

AFRMAP is what tells you what cell to adjust fuel in?
I've been using loadcalc.

Am I missing something?

All the AFRMAP does is tell you what value your cell is.

For instance, AFRMAP value of 170 at 5500rpm@260% load is reading a cell (that you fed the map) of 11.1 (14.7*128/170=11.07). This is the actual value ECU see's supposedly.

So according to Evoscan, you should have 11.1 in the cell, I'm not and was wondering if other people have the same discrepancy but haven't got much feedback and one guy thought I was refering to the actual wideband reading lol.

I'm just getting weirdness, I change a value here and get a AFRMAP change elsewhere as if my ROM was corrupted. If it was it happened long ago

Let me just make sure I get this right.
When I tune...say Evoscan says I am at 12.0 AFR at loadcalc 240 at 5000RPM.
I would go and change the 240 loadcalc / 5000 RPM cell.

What does this have to do with AFRMAP?
Basically. How does AFRMAP affect the way I tune?

Eric, my timing/rpm/load values are unusually perfect and very predictable and consistant.

It's my AFRMAP value that gives me an AFR calc not even listed for that RPM at times (except for the load transition area of 80%)

Is the AFRMAP proven to correspond or is it typical to have this off?

Here:

also notice the 38 count knock glitch I just recently got

What load value in your high octane timing map has a value of 10* for 5500RPM?

That's how I would verify whether or not the loadcalc is correct or not for you.

As far as AFRMAP (I haven't really used it that much at all), I thought jcsbanks stated that the AFRMAP may be different depending on lean spool or not.

Again, it's a bit hard to see your screenshot above, but it looks like your AFRMAP at around 5500 is 159. 14.7*128/159=11.8. Maybe that is the addition of lean spool to the AFRMAP number? Find your load number by looking at your ignition map for 5500RPM and 10* timing. What number is now in that cell in your fuel map?

I'm still confused.
What is AFRMAP for?

Why would you calculate your AFR using that if you can simply read it with a wideband?

Wideband for actual AFR

AFRMAP (14.7*128/x) for the actual AFR value the ecu is reading off the map. Supposed to be more accurate than the load calc, but I think it's BS if other people's value is off too - and thats what I'm trying to find out.

No, AFRMAP should represent the number that your ECU is reading from your fuel map.
