AFRMAP (14.7*128/x) for the actual AFR value the ecu is reading off the map. Supposed to be more accurate than the load calc, but I think it's BS if other people's value is off too - and thats what I'm trying to find out.
Mine never seemed to match. I only checked it once or twice and when it wasn't even close didn't bother checking again. I do wonder how the lean spool enable and disable may affect this.

Thanks

Well, if other people are haveing inconsistancies too, I can finally be at ease and ignore this worthless AFRMAP figure. I was thinking my ROM had scale problems.

Load calc seems to work good for me

So, it looks like your AFRMAP may be off by one point then, which may be due to the lean spool.

Your fuel map at 5500 and 240 load is 10.8. Your AFRMAP value comes out to 11.8.

Does overiding "lean spool" by leaning the map have any drawback compared to deactivating LS alltogether? Like tie up ECU processing

I havent noticed any side effects, negative drawbacks, or anything else wrong from having Lean spool entirely disabled. I also dont log the AFRmap value, I just rely on my WB at all times so I hadnt noticed that this was an issue before. With LS off, for the most part you can simply add a set value to the target value and arrive at your WB reading. I have found that more or less its 1.4 or so, but everyones WB reads a little different.

Thanks, I will be ignoring this AFRMAP thing now

Sorry, I meant to say if there is any drawbacks in NOT having the LS disabled, if it adds more demands on the ECU or something.

what is really annoying is that motorcycles (with a Power Commander ) have had sort of auto tuning for a while. do about 20-30, or even more, dyno passes at different throttle settings, holding RPM at certain points (the computer tells the tuner exactly what to do), and you end up with a complete fuel and timing map tweaked in every cell. too bad my bike is still carb'ed ... damn LAST YEAR they sold the R6 w/o FI.

anyway ... yeah it will happen with cars soon enough since we now have the ability to flash and it is getting bigger. I'm surprised no dyno shop has come up with a system to do it [shrug].

oh yeah and people trade power commander maps like they are baseball cards. of course there is less expertise involved in creating a power commander map since the computer tells the monk .. err mechanic, exactly what to do.
