Log & MAP Question
I have a tune I purchased a while ago and have just now got a laptop and the Evoscan software.
After doing a few logs my car was showing some knock counts. The highest was 6 and then tapering off. I also found that both the high and low octane fuel maps are identical so there is not much of a safety net there.
Since then I have been slowly doing some adjustments to the map and am really happy with the way the car runs as well as the log data.
The question I have is regarding the "MAP" value in one of the log columns (not shown in this log).
In the Evoscan software it shows a constant of KPa. I don't understand how this could be a correct value for the manifold pressure. Converted to psi it is something like 47 ish?
Any suggestions regarding the log and info on "MAP would be most appreciated!
Thanks,
Bob

Hi
The MAP on the Evo VIII is only for 1 Bar ( 14.5 psi) so you can't log MAP in the same way that.
So yet another mail in flash that the owner has had to correct. Sorry to hear this has happened to you. My advice is to go back to the stock map, and using your own judgment make thew changes you need to safely improve performance.
Has your your eflash also got boost cut disabled and has a flat ingnition map?

I am happy with the way the car runs now but want to do some fine tuning. I need to do logs of everyday driving to see what load cells I'm in during normal driving.
The boost cut was set way high on this map and the boost cut timer also has a huge number.
I do want to get the high octane maps dialed in and then adjust them lower for the low octane maps. Right now there's not much of a safety net if I got some bad gas
It took about 5 tweaks to get the log where it is now. Car pulls real smooth to redline.
Also I've noticed that the highest my car ever gets in the LoadCalc is 237. I'm running an APS intake and am not sure if that would cause it to run in a lower load cell
