Advice on these, more power on the table?
i have a greddy profec B spec II and thought about using the selenoid w/ECU controlling it instead of the prefec B unit. I spike to about 245-255 with the stock system and taper to about 185. I would love to hold boost to about 220-230 at redline. I might give it a go with the greddy selenoid if i can figure out how to control that unit with the ECU.
About using the AEM selenoid with the ECU controlling, if you can figure it out well enough to tweak it, it would be worth a try.
Also, keeping the boost more consistant after spike would be a good thing too, mine spikes to about 245-255 then settles to about 220 then rises again then tapers....every time.
Good luck!

Hi
There is a thread here discussing the use of non standard BS on the stock ECU. It has been pointed out that the impedance of the aftermarket solenoid must be the same as the stock item or it will risk burning out the drivers in the ECU. Personally I'd be a bit weary of using a non standard BS on the stock ECU unless the manufacturer confirmed it was OK.

even if the impedance was off.....once you figure out what the impedance differences are, you can make a resistor box to run the selenoid at the correct impedance. Its the same concept as running low impedance injectors with a high impedance ECU injector driver, you have to run a resistor box to properly match the impedance to protect the injector drivers in the ECU.
All i need to know is what the stock ECU selenoid drivers impedance is, then find out what the 3rd party selenoid's is and make a resistor box to properly match the selenoid to the ECU.
I should know more by the weekend.
