LOL...Yeah had I known that he would be 'available' to answer questions, I may have gone the Innovative route ....Either way, you will be taking a step in the right direction.

I've said it before, as someone who has just started fooling with the stock ecu I am very impressed with the logging information that can be got with the Innovate bundle, lc-1 and cable for ecuflashing. Personally, having come from a standalone logging system I'd like to get the info in a column format too, nevertheless when you marry the wideband with the ecuflash cable and LogWorks you have a lot of information available without much effort.
In my case I opted for psi readings via the lma-3 which gives me a "g" reading as a bonus.

FWIW, my particpation on this forum can be traced back to a link on our own. I wrote the OpenPort plug-in for LogWorks on my own (largely as an offshoot from another my-time project which I can hopefully commit a lot more time to once LW-3 and another OEM project are out the door). It did not originally work with 1.2m cables, so I tweaked it.

I readily admit that one of the reasons that I kept sticking around, despite some strong complaints, is that there seemed to be a whole lot of, well, factually challenged claims about our products being made. But, primarily, I just enjoy interacting with a user base that may getting some benefit from my work.

Since I've never hesitated to help MJ in his efforts (including giving him a tool to help debug his problems with Zeitronix RPM input), although Mitsulogger does not yet support Innovate hardware. And have even helped someone troubleshoot their problems with Zeitronix logging software, I'm not sure that 'Troll' is quite warranted. But if that is the impression I give, so be it...

No worries (that is why I added the 'wink'). Though as I get older and hair continues to spring out of the darndest places, troll becomes increasingly accurate...

LOL Ipictured those little troll dolls that I remeber as a kid with the straw like hair standing straight up...

On a side note and back on topic... Isn't support for the LC-1 coming soon for Mitsulogger? I too am looking to buy a wideband and have prety much settled on the Innovate prodcut over the zeitronix in part due to some of the things I read here on this board. I have been "trolling" about trying to read and learn as much as I can and hopefully make educated decisions to avoid spending more money than I have to or worse yet buying several prodcuts to accomplish the same intended functionality to begin with.

I am looking at the lc-1 with the db gauge but now I am thinking the xd-16 setup might be theway to go. Innovate if you are out there can you tell me if the xd-16 can display muliple sensor readings simulataneous or show each reading sequentially. The zeitronix unit show 4 sensor readings simultaneous.

I would like to have both visual indicators of monitored parameters and the ability to log. Why buy a gauge and then have to add more sensors wiring etc. for the datalogging aspects.

I know MJ is working on Innovate support now. If he says he is going to have it, I'd trust him.

The XD-16 can be setup to display any param in your MTS, but it which param is not changable at runtime. Remember, the XD-16 is a circular gauge product designed for pro racing. The individual LED color programming, etc. is all about one-item, briefest possible glance.

The one exception is that alarm functions can be multi-channel conditional. So the visual alarms do not have to be intrinsically linked to the displayed channel. We did experiment with some rectangular multi line prototypes but we got complaints about readability from our target audience.

Something that seems to be increasingly popular is to construct custom gauge panels in LogWorks (our free logging software) and display them on a car PC. The gauges can be any logged channel (tactrix, AFR, etc.) I suspect that this will become more popular with LW3, since it offers graphical skins and more customizable gauge appearance, along with some other gauge enhancments. Also, you can create real time math channels to generate things like shift lights, too much knock light, etc.

That's not to say that multi-line displays, etc. don't have their place. I'm only indicating that for some applications, specifically ones we happened to be targeting with the XD-1 (now XD-16) really are better served by a more conventional gauge indicator.

So LW3=Logworks versio3 right? I am considering a car pc with DIN display and this would be great. I would need a serial box to handle multiple inputs from sensors that are not already monitored via the tactrix right?

PS thanks for the reply I will more than likely be calling you guys tomorrow for more specific information. i find it difficult to articulate what I am thinking or needing to know via writing on a message board. In the interim I better go do more homework

Yes, version 3. And MTS device chains require a serial port for logging.

You're welcome to call us anytime.
