Our ECUs can have eight sets of maps...
If I could swap fuel and timing maps, maybe mivec if possible, on the fly, then I would be giggling like a school girl at a boy band concert
I personally have no need for injector scaling changes.

Here would be my must-have list of switchable maps:
1. Timing
2. Fuel
3. Boost tables (This is a must for ecu-boost for pump gas to race gas map switching)
Mivec would be a nice to have but not 100% necessary

are there multiples of those ones?
sorry but i'm using an EBC so the only boost table I touch is the boost limits
speaking of which I probably wouldn't alt-map the boost limit table, just get people to set their original one high enough

BDEL has 3 maps
BCLO has 1 map
WGDC has 3 maps
most people set all 3 maps for BDEL/WGDC the same as nobody has found/figured out why there are 3.
One thing you could possibly do is make it so one map changes all 3? Although I guess that would be even more crazy coding to do..

I kinda agree on the boost limit, however it would take one failsafe away from the one map that needs it the most, pump gas.

I think having boost limit switchable is a good thing. You might be able to run most boost safely with higher octane that lower so having that switchable would be good.
BCLO should be on the chopping block if anything. You can set the switchable Boost limit, BDEL and WGDC to all use the same BCLO.
BTW, same number of maps for the VIII.
The 03/04 VIII's have 4 of WGDC and BDEL
hrmm im still tossing up whether to "rewrite" the boost routines, and simplify them (read remove #1,2,3 maps etc) or just "hijack" the current ones...
the latter is easier in the short term, but isn't as "nice"

If you can find out which map (1,2,3) does what then perhaps we can simplify them. I tried to figure it out awhile back from trial and error but I didn't get very far. I would think disassembly or some such would get that answer quicker.
I believe this is somewhat important and wish someone could come up with an answer. Also, agree that disassembly would get the answer quickly, as I also played with map 1,2 & 3 and couldn't come up with an answer.
This topic has always been interesting to me seeing as how other cars such as VW have had this available from aftermarket manufacturers for years.
Why haven't any of the "tuners" come up with a solution to this? It seems like an easy money maker for them.
This is what I had on my last GTi. http://www.goapr.com/ Up to four maps and very easy to use.

I would definitley toss a couple bucks your way tephra if you could make this work. Set up some type of paypal, and we can send you some cash then you email us the modded roms/instructions or something. Im sure people wouldnt be too unhappy as long as the price was reasonable
