Throttle Hang?

I have posted about this problem before and wanted to know if anyone has found the problem or a solution. To reiterate my problem, after a WOT pull when i lift it feels as though the car has the cruise control on and it remains to crusie at what feels like lite throttle. Its really becoming a problem as when i do track days i am braking against the motor and my brakes get cooked!!! I was wondering if its possible that my utec is interfering in some way though it is setup not to. And it seems that others without utec have the same problem, Does flashing the car with it still attached cause any possibility of interference with the flash?

Here is a link to my maps and logs and such...

I actually experienced something similar to this the other day...

Fanged past a 4wheel drive(maybe upto 6krpm) then I stopped at a set of lights, the rpms dropped back to 5000 but hung there for a little while then slowly went back to idle..

it was like the accelerator cable was stuck or something??!?!

Yup, its been documented before just not sure whether the "right" people know about it or whether there is a fix.

yeah - i definately still have this hang - even after a flash. the magic number is 3krpm. anything above that hangs for me - as soon as its under 3 i feel engine breaking.

i;m actually finding myself shif up - just to engine break which is pretty lame

The throttle hang your talking about is on 05+ evo for emission reasons. I dont think anybody in the ECUFlash forum has found how to disable.

in previous threads some have mentioned that its the DVs that are causing us to continue boosting. If it was the DV I don't see how it sticks exactly at 3krpm.

mine does it when i leave the fan on...like when i have it off...no problem at all.

also you might want to check your throttle body shaft seal. if theres a leak there it may not close all the way.

Does it stop around 3-3.5K rpm?? If yes, then its emission control.

I am way past even considering it factory form. There is throttle hang and then there is frigin cruisecontol hang. I experience the latter.

A friend of mine's 05 has this "feature" too. I don't like it. It's kinda scray when you are at almost redline and it doesn't spin down as you expected.

This happened to me the other day. Was heel-toe downshifting coming to a stoplight. Went from 3rd into 2nd. Hit the throttle. Went up to 5000+ rpms...and stayed there. Put the clutch in and braked. Had no idea what the heck was going on. Decided the the engine staying @ 5000 rpms wasn't a good idea. Turned off the car.

Turned the car back on. Problem went away. Car has been running untuned off the ECU for awhile. Am scared that when it gets on a dyno, it will stay @ 7000+ rpms because I haven't gone WOT in a long time.
