Strange Knock

Strange Knock

This is my first time really trying to tune my newly acquired Evo. I tried to lean it out up top and make the timing a little more aggressive; however, for some strange reason I'm getting knock down low that tapers off up-top. Any suggestions?

Knock starts at 10 counts and tapers down.

Defintely too much timing advace at the peak boost!

I ran 8* of timing at 3k rpm on 93 octane. now i run 5* of timing at 3k on 91 octane.

What is your AFR when you hit the 5* timing? What is your timing @ 3700 rpm?

dyno graph approx numbers on a 3rd gear pull and 91 octane
3k ~ 12.3 afr
3.5k ~11.7 afr
3.7k ~ 11.4 afr (max torque)

averaging at 11.4 afr dropping down to 11.1. its an agressive tune.

when i was in michigan, i tuned it to 11.7 afr
