yes, running leaner AFR's, even on 91 octane, with less ignition advance will suprise you. And it's just as safe, if not safer because you will be running less ignition advance.

Tune for 11.2:1 at peak torque, then taper to 10.9 at revlimiter. Retard ignition timing until knock goes away.

Have fun!

Just got back from a few pulls, took out some timing, 3000-2 degrees 7000-9 degrees.. Afrs go from 11.4 at wot @3000 to 10.4@7000. Car has ZERO knock, and it feels good.. Did pulls both in 3rd gear, and 4th gear checking for knock. Car feels good. Thanks for all the help fella's.

You should actually be able to run ~12-13 degrees at 7k rpms, ~200 load. Knock is one of those things where once it starts, it becomes an avalanche. So before, you were probably getting knock in the mid-range which carried over into the upper rpm range. But now since you got rid of the knock down low.... anyways, try out 12 degrees at 7k

+1

by reducing timing in the middle and getting rid of that avalanche, you can run more of it on top, making more power on top, which is niiiice if you dont get knock at 12* you can try even more.. i got around 15* there.
