My First Logs with New Evoscan and LC-1

The logs are trimmed down to WOT in 3rd gear.....look alright, I am thinking alittle lean, but no knock is present.

I try to use mitsulogger but it crashed whenever i selected my Wideband, possibly because i am using a USB to serial converter, i still have to work that issue out....

AFR is all over the place, try to smooth it out. I like tuning to a 11.1 for a conservative tune. You can go lean it out to 11.4-5 if you want.

Cheers!

Did you do anything for a setup purpose to get your LC-1 to give AFR readings? When I hook up the LC-1 to logworks it reads correctly. However, when I put this with Evoscan I'm only seeing readings that are 4.XX. Makes no sense??

My LC-1 worked perfectly with EvoScan right out of the box.

I think I figured out what happened -- I'm using the LED with the LC-1...I think the black side of the LED became grounded -- so basically my wideband was attempting to do a free air calibration...yeah that would screw it up.

Yeah, make sure you get a good free air calibration. Prefereably, take the wideband out of the exhaust stream totally and free air calibrate it. You can do a free air with the WB still installed, but the engine must not of been run for 10 or so hours before you do it. I free air mine all the time(whenever there is a big change in weather/temps). I usually keep it installed, but do it after the car has sat for 12 hours or so. If there is ANY trace gasses in the exhaust, the WB will be off after the calibration.

Hi,

Even 12 hrs might not be enough, depending on the exh. system. I've seen systems where it took a week to get all exh. traces to dissipate. The fastest way I found is to just hook a vacuum cleaner (shop vac) to the tailpipe (engine off of course ) and let it run for 5 minutes with the throttle held wide open. Cleans out the exh. system real good. Do NOT try this on a carburated car though. You might launch the vacuum cleaner into orbit.

Regards,
Klaus

that statement made me laugh!

I'll give the vacuum trick a try.

My LC-1 refuses to work with evoscan...only likes LogWorks2

Same here.....I free air calibrated it before installing into the dp and im getting the weird numbers when logging in evoscan, but logworks its fine.

Anybody have a def. fix? maybe I will try calibrating it again in the morning......if thats actually whats even causing it?
