Nitrous and launch control

I just picked up a nitrous kit and it has a full throttle activation switch. I don't want to be spraying while I am in launch control, but I would like to spray once the clutch is fully disengaged (still in first gear). Does anybody know how to get around this?

Launch without bouncing off stationary rev limiter (raise it back to normal).

1.7's and even high 1.6's are just as easy without it (stat. limiter), and furthermore without the rev limit knock

Just not as fun

When i went to the track without the launch controll, the best 60' i could get was 1.999.
I was slipping the clutch from 6000, and don't think the car had much more in it.

don't bother spraying in first, you need dr for traction with the amount of torque you will make, buy a second WOT switch, hook it up to the first gear on your shifter but wire it backwards that way the system is off when the WOT is pressed (in first gear) and when you shift out of first the kit will then be activated if the wot on the pedal is also engaged...

Good idea! How do you suggest doing that! putting the second switch under my shift linkage?

yea its pretty neat trick doing it that way, the lsX guys have been doing this for a while...yea you have to mount it to your shiftlinkage one way or another...check out ls1tech if you want to see how they are wired...lots of writeups over there...

Or you could use a relay on the clutch pedal switch.

When you have the pedal pressed down the relay opens the feed circuit to the WOT switch.

That's not a bad idea there. N2O won't spray with the clutch pushed in.

I've got a whole wet kit with rpm window switch, wot and fuel pressure switches in the basement. Still deciding on if I wanna put it on or not.

That is what the WOT switch is for.

Who wants to be holding onto a button while you need to be watching everything else your doing.

If you were to use my way with a relay, you could even do NLTS and the n20 would shut off while shifting as well.

You can probably wire into the existing clutch switch that is used to make sure the clutch is engaged prior to starting but you will need to make sure the clutch is fully depressed. Also, an rpm window switch is a nice addition to a WOT activated nitrous setup so that it wont spray before or after a certain rpm. Get the digital rpm window switch, not the pill based one that sucks. Good luck, I dont recommend switch activated nitrous for anyone.. too easy to have an accident when the adrenaline is flowing.
