Anybody tried passing emissions with a test pipe?
As long as you don't have a cat efficiency CEL and the readiness test is passed, you'll have no problems with the test pipe. It's just an OBD-II test.

does this just stop the cat efficiency test, or does it actually stop the ecu from reading the rear o2 sensor?

I'd like to be able to use the rear o2 pin for something else, not sure if this is a solution..

Hi all,

I've got a EDM 88840016 ROM on a IX with no cat and no rear O2 sensor (WB instead). I'm trying this mod with resistor + flash; at specified address I found 0x56DA (as in first post), I've changed it to 0x56D8 and reflashed.

Just one point: I'm now getting some P0125 (random)... I'm trying to understand if it is related to CEL disable. Anyone experienced?

It's specific to the Rear O2 circuit, so it's just the O2 CEL. If you don't do something about the heater circuit (as I've done with the resistor), then you'll see that code thrown.

I didn't even know there was a version 16 ROM out. It's quite possible that the address for the O2 is different for this ROM. The only thing I can suggest is to flash it back to stock and see if you still get the P0125 code. If you do, it's not the patch that caused it.

hrmm I looked through the ECU code and there is a massive chunk of engine_calcs that gets processed when this bit is cleared...
