mrfred,

If the car is never in closed loop does the ecu still question the o2 sensors if they are "on board"?

I just realized my fuel trims are completely shut down now that I have a version of JB's open loop economy settings.

No, with a 10k on 13 V you will get barely 1-1.5 mA of current, a value too low to keep the ecu happy. Ecu needs at least 0.2 A, so a 47 ohm 10W will be ok (47 ohm on 13 V will get less than 4 W of power).

I found it odd that you could get away with only a 10K ohm resistor as well. Thats not even CLOSE to simulating the original reisistance of an O2 sensors heater circuit. Most NB heater circuits start out with lower resistance and raise as the heahter reaches operating temp which is in the 4-9 ohm range. I'd be interested to find out just how high of a resistance is enough to satisfy the ECU into thinking there is a proper load on the heater circuit.

I personally would recommend using two 100 ohm/10 watt resistors for $3.98 from Radio Shack wired in parallel to minimize the heat dissipation from each resistor. That way you wont worry so much about the resistors getting hot.

Well heat is my main concern

I guess ill test the 10k first I am hoping the circuit just needs to be closed for the ECU to be happy, rather than looking for a specific voltage/current/resistance...

Are there 2 too many values? i assume the first two 0009s are not necessary?

Sorry about that. Remove the duplicate 0004 and A000 at the end. I fixed the original post.

No problem, thank you for the mod. It is cheaper then a new rear o2 sensor.

Don't ask for 8 or 9 support as for specific rom version support.

tephra is incorporating it in his feature ROMs. Should be available in maybe a month or two.

mrfred,

Depending on what tephra finds out about the lack of space in the 96940011 ROM, he may not be releasing a v5 for this ROM.

If not, would you mind explaining to me (over PM if you wish), what exactly your patch is doing and if you have looked at an VIII ROM or not? I wouldn't mind searching for the code in the 96940011 ROM and making the patch myself, but I wanted to make sure I understood what you were doing first before I made an attempt at it.
