Thanks,

I had a quick look at my 96940011 disassembly, and it looks like you got it. Give it a try with my revised code. Should work as intended.

OK, cool. I will clean it up based off of your revised code and flash my ECU within the next week or so, when I can find some time. I get the cat efficiency cel right away, so I will know if this is working or not pretty quickly.

Thanks again,
Eric

Alright so I tried a 10k/.5w resistor as well as a 12k/1w resistor. Neither worked.

I will test 2x100/10W (in parallel AND series) tonight, I suspect it will work fine, just need to find the combo with the least heat output

Cheers

OK, I patched my 96940011 ROM and flashed it yesterday. I left my CEL on to see if this patch worked, since the ECU will turn off the CEL itself after three cycles of not finding the conditions which caused the CEL.

My CEL was turned off by the ECU today, so I can confirm that the patch for the 96940011 works. I will go ahead and make a separate thread about the 96940011 patch since this thread is already very long and since 96940011 isn't one of the V5 options at this time and doesn't look like it will ever be due to the space restriction.

Eric,

So what you are saying is that if Tephra has a v5 patch for your ROM id use that and set it to disable the rear o2 and you won't need any resistors? I want to remove my rear o2 sensor completely and put my wideband in its place....

Just wanted to clarify before I flashed my car with the v5 update...

A resistor is still required with this setup. Main difference with the new setup is that it will pass ODB-II inspection (and it frees up another ADC input for things like a WB analog out).

Also for the guys placing their WB in the rear O2 location...pay EXTRA attention to EVERY gasket and seal located between the engine and the WB sensor. One teensy weensy exhaust leak will throw your WB readings off. Its always best to have a bung welded onto the downpipe for the rear O2 to minimize the possibility of leaks.

I found the subroutines where the heater circuit is checked. Now I just have to figure out what the heck is happening in those subroutines. Once I figure out what's happening, I can make a software sim to eliminate the heater CEL without having to add a resistor.
