thanks! ill try this out and update you how it works out for me.

I had a resister on my heater circuit for about a year, it just recently burned out (I had it under the car). The place I bought it from doesn't sell O2 simulator stuff anymore because the EPA harassed them, but they told me to use a 40ohm-25watt resister from digikey.com, part number RHC-40-ND as a replacement.

Installed this today, seems to be working so far. My heater +12v and ground wires are both black.. I am using wires from the O2 sensor side of the plug though, maybe the colors are different there. I ran some errands and it was cool to the touch when I got home..

Could you take pictures of how you hooked it up?

I can't really get a good pic without taking my seat out, but there is a plug where the rear O2 sensor connects to the car wiring. On the O2 sensor side of that plug, there are two black wires. I have them connected to the resistor

This is from a post in the how-to section on installing an O2 sim:
List of wires from the o2 Plug from the car on the o2 sensor side. Do not cut the wires on the car wiring harness side only on the 02 sensor side becuase it can be replaced very easily. The correct plug is BLACK.
-----------------------------
1.Solid Black
2.Solid Black
3.Solid White
4.Solid Blue
The two black wires are Heater 12v and Heater ground. I cut off the O2 sensor since I don't use it at all

today i drove around an hour and i got a code 133. this happened using 2 50 ohm 10 watt resistor in parallel. i noticed the cel comes on after driving a long time. if i just drive for a few min do not get the cel. i guess the resistor is heating up too much when driving for over an hour.

133 = Oxygen sensor slow response..

so either the code is buggy OR its not a heater problem...

Which mod have you done to remove the rear02 andrew?

Here is what i did. i used mfred's table changes (post #148) since i have IX then removed the rear o2 and placed the resistor in place. Did i miss something out? I removed the rear o2 since i used the bung for my wideband.

thanks.

Oh ok. well so i guess my resistor and your code is working. i now know y it is showing up. its because im using my zeitronix's narrowband simulator. I did this since i adjusted my switching point. i guess the wideband takes longer to warm up causing the slow response. does anyone know how to adjust the treshold for this slow response error?
