is there any workaround available for 88840016 p0125 errors? i have periphery0 set to 0x56D8, it keeps throwing p0125... any chance to get rid of this with another periphery bit or something?

i wanted to share something and this could make life easier. and it works great, just tested it

but, i changed the variables already on a test rom. saved it elsewhere and opened the original rom, and you can copy/paste the changes from one to the other. so, i'm really doing this as a service to ppl that have yet to change the variables as shown above.

so here's the deal, open your rom, find either of these, open it, copy the relevant text below, go to edit > select all > paste. double check versus above data and so forth.

if this is the change for the evo9 usdm rom, then yes its confirmed. I have gotten a NYS inspection 3 weeks ago. I have a test pipe and the rO2 sensor plugged into the catback exhaust bong. The bong is angled at bout 30 degreez

56D8 is just the rear O2, P0125 is a coolant temp error. Whether or not there is a periphery that specifically cures that I am not able to say. My latest charting of the peripheries hasnt yeilded one yet.

Change Periphery2 from EFDF to E7DF

If I am interpretting the ROM code correctly, there is no way to disable just the rear O2 heater. This will disable both the front and rear O2 heater checks, so beware of that limitation. If someone could try this and report back to me, I would appreciate it. Also, could you use ScanTech to observe the "Readiness" condition for the heater check?

Bump! mrfred, any idea what value to use for some other roms...namely 96530006

Is there any reason a 10k ohm, 1/2 watt resister wouldn't work or be bad for the circuitry? I went to radioshack and they did not have 1/4 watt ones, so I decided to try the 1/2. The math of the situation seems like it would upset things, but I don't seem to have a CEL. I just don't want to wreck the wiring, a relay, or something else.

The ECU "should" see such a high resistance as a faulty heater circuit, which is why everyone uses two 50 ohm- 10 watt resistors in parallel so the ECU see's a 25 ohm load. This is still almost twice the resistance as the standard heater circuit. Be warned..these suckers get HOT! Like, melt through a plastic box type of hot. Its best to enclose them inside a metal project box (sold at radishack usually) and suspend the resistor in the middle of the box so they don't touch the sides.

Hopefully the entire heater circuit function can be disabled in the rom soon while eliminating the CEL issue.

The original post here says to use a single "10kohm/.25 amp" resister, where is this two 50 ohm- 10 watt resistors in parallel coming from? I'll use it if it works, cause 10k/.5 watt does not work.

10K is too high. ECU needs to see some load on the heater circuit.

even @ 15V it would still only suck down 4.5W so im happy enough with the 10W rating.

*bump* for full ecu fix. not too fond of running around with a non weather proofed resistor on my under carriage

TIA mrfred!!!!
still working for me

Hrm, 10k ohm/1/2 watt just doesn't work for me. I got 2 of the big 10ohm 10watt suckers tonight, gonna be trying them soon
