Tial e-wastegate and stock BCS hookup

Helping a friend install his GT35R kit while utilizing the stock ECU and was curious about the the connection to the stock BCS for boost control as it pertains to the Tial external wastegate.

The side port on the Tial should be connected to a vacuum source (for me T'd in w/ the stock BCS boost source), but how about the top port? I was planning to T this off to the intake tube tract (bleeder port) off the BCS. Is this correct?

This is an interesting test of the factory BCS system. I dont see why it wont work any differently (probably better I would think) than the internal gate.

To come to terms with the question, yes you are correct. The 2 ports on the factory BCS are in order from closest to battery the bleed (just needs to be recirced or left open doesnt matter) and the other one needs connected to a boost/vaccum source like factory. I will look for the post that has all the pics.

You guys all should use a 3 port solenoid like the perrin or similar.

Its easy to hook up, a boost source to one port, WG to one port, then I believe you leave the last port open to bleed air.

3 port solenoid works a lot better then the stock one.

Does it plug right in and work correctly with the stock ecu or do you have to wire the harness. And are there any parameters other than boost settings that need to be changed with the Perrin.

The Perrin one hooks right up to the factory wiring (you have to splice it into the wiring), no resistors or anything. On other 3port solenoids, you have to use resistors.

Then all you have to do is adjust your boost settings.

I might actually go with that... I believe the Perrin is an interrupt style rather than a bleed type?

I wish someone would make a full plug and play one like Prodrive does for the Wrx's.

With either an external or upgraded internal actuator the stock BCS is just fine. Is is it limited in total bypassable airflow? Yes, but its got a 12psi window which is probably more than most people are honestly like to use. Case in point, a GT35 car on pump (91 will differ obviously) should be able to run 24psi and maybe 22 or so on 91. Add in the additional 12psi and that takes you to 34-36. I suppose if you have to have it just to say its there then by all means, otherwise its not really needed.
