Didn't want to put the names out.. but John is having troubles reading the rom now. He said he'll try to rebuild a new one from scratch for me when he has time, but it's been 3 weeks so I thought I'd take a whack at the current maps..

Always get the same error when I try to get into the maps.. can't get into it, it's all greyed out. I can flash and read only

Bottom line for us 2004 minority population is that we'll have to wait until sombody disses a 96420007 ROM ID.

We've had the worst luck so far - first, 96420008 for some reason was messed up so colby I guess created 0007. Now, no one is interested or has a need to crack the DNA on our ID.

Perhaps 10 of us ea can paypal someone to do it money talks

One more thing - the # on my ECU is:

4602
0008

Would that be 96420008? (just checking for some strange reason)

OK, I did the following (below) with the info Mr. Banks supplied for the 96420007 ROM (thanks!) flashed the ECU, used evoscan and logged 2 byte successfully.

Now here's the disclaimer, I did all this without knowlegde of what exactly I was doing which is why I'm posting this - think of it as being posted to get graded and corrected, not as a tutorial (2 byte for retards). But the most important thing is IT WORKS!

Here are some questions:
  1. When I flashed the ROM it processed a hell of a lot of info for just two cell changes (took about 15 seconds), I saved the text of the flash and there was about 3 times the amount of info as usual. Is this normal?
  2. For 2 byte maf I basically do the same thing, right? I want to make sure I did this right before I go and flash 2 byte MAFhz
  3. Getting this to run on LW3 is my next objective now that I got the hard part done, which is the overall picture
An additional comment here, I wouldn't have been able to accomplish _ _ _ _ without the help of jcsbanks who took the time to point me in the right direction (and finding the addresses), so thanks man - I'll vote for you! Also, thanks to Freon for your time as well, even though you may never frequent EvoM

Graded and passed the course!

1. Normal, it has to flash a large block in high up memory to change the MUT table.
2. Yes

No problem, happy to help.

Apologize if this is a stupid question, just need an affirmative clarification. Will the changes that C6C6CH3vo made to his 0007 rom also work on an 0008? Are 0007 and 0008 interchangeable?
