I think if your ID is 96420008 (04) and your running EcuFlash 1.3 then your ID will actually come up as 96420007. At least mine did, with all previous editions of EcuFlash my ROM ID was recognized as 0008

I have 1.3, but rom id is recognized as 0008. Tried to add 2 byte load to 0008 rom. Didn't work, pretty sure I did it right using info from your findings and the other thread (rom for dummies).

Iff your using ecuflash 1.30 then I thought your ROM would be recognized as 96420007. When I installed 1.30 the ROM displayed as 0007 and the stepper tables were fixed.

The lable on my ecu is 0008

Did by chance you ever run DynoFlash on your ECU?

Recognized as 96420008. No dynoflash, but I do have a local tuners reflash.

It was once thought the ooo8 problems was from the dynoflash but this proves thats not the case, mostly.

Yes I got the email with the xml and hex file. Really appreciate your help. I edited my xml using your stuff, no errors, but no new tables either.

I tried this on my 96420007 '04 VIII ROM and EvoScan shows MUT 2-byte load as 0.

Anyone else have this fail to work for them?

I too have the 96420008 rom in my '04. Would it be a problem to just copy over my tables into a stock 94170008 rom and flash that to the car. Since this rom always gets the first of all the mods it would easier. I did some research and it seems as though it should work. Is there anything wrong with this? If it didn't work I could just flash back, right? Thanks

Tried it today and car wouldn't start, so I flashed it back.
