CEL Clearer????
I have an obd-II scan tool I got from walmart.. It works great and I have used it about a billion times.. Now I have ecuflash and evoscan. I am sick of unplugging my tactrix cable to clear the codes. Any good program out there to run via laptop??? I have a generic obd-II program on my comp and it keeps telling me the cable isnt hooked up, then i switch to evo scan and it works, so I know its not the cable. Is this even possible to clear c.e.l. with your tactrix cable
I know the obd tool I have has all the pins the connector, but the tactrix only has what is needed.. Any programs people are using out there?? THANKS

Thats what I have.. Doesnt work for me.. Cant seem to connect?? My cable is brand new and connects to my evoscan and ecu flash without a problem ever.. but wont connect when i use scan tech....
There is a thread on aktivematrix that explains the proper settings..
Initially it won't connect because the settings by default are for a different cable.
I think its also documented in the download description.
99% of the time the issues with connecting are either improper settings or selecting the wrong COM port (or the driver install for the cable didnt install the VCP driver/Com port emulation)
Mitsubishis only use the K line, which is why the tactrix cable works fine with the Mitsubishi, other cars have one or two K lines, and an L line, and those cars might not work with this cable and the scantech software. Those cars you would have to use a JEFF style cable, or a VAG-COM style cable (which fyi the vag-com cable I tried works with Mitsulogger, but not with scantech)

FWIW I just use a different OBD-II tool that just plugs directly into the port and reads the data onto a handheld unit. Since most of the time I don't have a laptop connected. But when I do have logging and my laptop set up, I use scantech.
I've had problems with Scan Tech as well. I have to tinker with it some times to get it to connect, even when the settings are correct. I believe that last time I changed the interface select to Jeff and then back to Tactrix and got it to work.
If it happens again I'll document it.

I was having some difficulties with this last night as well, but today I figured it out. I had to put it on Jeff Protocol and find the right port. Once I did that it worked fine.
