I took the non-fouler out this morning, re-calibrated in free air, and sure enough, my readings look spot on now.

Sorry for the confusion and thanks everyone for the help.

Any idea how long the sensor will last?

The further you are downstream your AFRs should be leaner not richer. Good rule of thumb is to keep it about 18in from the Turbo.

Why? There is no reference to this in the Innovate documents. Can you explain the reason for this as I don't understand why it would work as you say.

That is complete baloney... you can get perfectly good readings all the way back in the tailpipe if you have no cat, as long as it isn't at the very end.

The non-fouler may very well be screwing up my readings, so I'll take that off tomorrow and re-calibrate.

actually the reasoning behind that is lets say theres an exhaust leak somewhere that you may not be aware of, that may throw ur afrs off. Usually when the dp is leaking is sounds very very raspy so people catch it. The dp is only 1 connection to worry about, where further down you have many more

Cheers!

i just replaced my sensor about a month ago and i've had the wideband for over 2 yrs.. so depending on how lean or rich your car runs it could last a while.

And depending on how much leaded gas you put through it.

Is mandatory that you run the WB all the time? I only hook mine up if I'm changing something or I'm experiencing problems.

If you are running alky or are tuned to the ragged edge then a wideband is mandatory equipment. If you are running 21psi on 93 and were tuned for that then I dont find it necessary to run 24/7.

If the sensor is in the exhaust it must be powered (heated)

If you have unpowered sensors in the exhaust, you'll end up breaking the sensor.

Why not run them all the time?

cuz innov. does NOT recommend consistent power... reason is when u start ur car in a cool morning, moisture and cold air is pushed out. when ur o2 is on when it gets hit w/ moisture and cold gush, it can shock it. ur supoose to start the wideband right after the car starts. ofcourse keep it powered for the duration of the drive or the exhaust gas temp can burn an unpowered o2
