New to EcuFlash(and any tuning in general)
I have just recently began looking into tuning because I have started modding my evo. I downloaded ecuflash and was very interesed with the fuel diagrams and stuff but have no idea what I am looking at. I was just wondering if anyone had and MAPS they could send me to compare with my stock one(and maybe eventually try on my car), just to get an idea of what I need to change and what difference it makes. I am not looking for someone to send me free maps that they have purchased through vendors, because I know that is definately not allowed on here, but ones that people have created themselves that have made a difference. Just for an idea of what I am looking for, I have on my car: turbo back, intake, boost controller(about 22psi), buschur deluxe fmic and licp, forge rs bov, o2 simulator, and that is about it. I am sure that there are similar posts on here, but like I said, I know nothing about tuning so wouldn't even know what the begin to search for. It is just something I would like to learn a little more about, and I figured this would be the best way to do that. I appreciate any help.
Thanks
Anthony
(Also, I am going to get my car professionally tuned in the next week or so. If I do, can I load that MAP and save it so that I can play around with the stock map, and then just set it back to the tuned MAP?)
Thanks

I would get the cable first.. So you can upload and download maps. It is not really wise to take other evo maps since a car with similar mods can very. You can take the tuned map out and replace it at any time. I would suggest reading all you can about EcuFlash starting with changing a few things here and there Stationary rev limiter and maybe Rev limiter.. Maybe even do a 2 byte load patch. That way you know which cell the ecu is reading from at that RPM. Also learn the logging software Evoscan and Mitsulogger. Get a Wideband that can LOG. I am also trying to learn about the low and high octane timing and fuel maps... It seems like a secret to most but if you look around you can find some useful info. I am new to this also so I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I have been going through here reading as much as I can, and have downloaded mitulogger as well. My plan was to first set the stationary rev limiter and change the rev limiter first as my first actual hands on working with it. I am working on getting a cable right now, but I am broke so I have to wait a week or so and wait till I have the money to get it professionally flashed temporarily as well.

To get you started.
And further down the road, like theHitMan said, consider getting a wideband o2 sensor and MAP sensor.

OP, see the link in my sig, he has lots of information on his site.
Plus you can pm him on here.
Just do a search for mellon or look in the service review section to learn about is service.

And I had already been looking at mellon tuning through midwestevos.com.
