can some explain to me what LOAD is? and what TIMING is? everything i read seems so interesting, and i just wish i could understand what it all meant... thanks in advance
load is complicated, the ecm uses air flow throttle position and a few other inputs to determine a percentage that is related to calculated manifold pressure. most engines idle in the 30% range while 100% is approximatly atmospheric pressure, 100%+ load would be positive realative pressure or boost created by a turbo/supercharger ect
timing refers to ignition advance.
timing refers to ignition advance.
if you dont understand then start here

Timing (or ignition advance) tells you when a sparkplug will fire in relation to top dead center (TDC).
0 timing = sparkplug fire when piston is at top dead center (the very top of the stroke)
positive timing = sparkplug fire before piston reaches top dead center
negative timing = sparkplug fire after piston reaches top dead center
0 timing = sparkplug fire when piston is at top dead center (the very top of the stroke)
positive timing = sparkplug fire before piston reaches top dead center
negative timing = sparkplug fire after piston reaches top dead center
