interface close??
Hey guys im kinda knew to this and im trying to figure out why ecuflash won't upload/read my current ecu flash. I just downloaded the program and did everything step by step but when i click the blue "Read from ecu" icon it wont work right. I click my make/model car and it just says "no document", "interface close", and "unable to connect to vehicle interface". It's the 1.33 version. Any suggestions guys? Could my ecu be locked by AMS from a previous tune? Thanks in advance with any helpful suggestions.

Well i recently took my car over to my friends house who also has an evo (the same guy i borrowed the tactrix cable from). Anyways, it was his first time trying to use ecuflash on his car also and the same thing kept happening to his car. As soon as we click the blue icon and then select 03 evo it just says "unable to connect to vehicle interface." Could the cable be bad even though it works fine when using evoscan? ANY suggestions would be great. My laptop had the 1.33 version and his had the 1.30 version. We had also both been previously tuned by AL at dynoflash, so i thought it could've been locked. I downloaded the ecu unlocker program and it still wont allow me to read my ecu with ecuflash.
The white connector (one that does the flashing) might be bad. Evoscan uses the black OBD II connector to log so that is why it might work. See if anyone near by has another cable they can lend you and that should tell you what you need to know in the end.
Actually....so the guy you borrowed the cable from...it sounds like he had 1.3 on another machine and it didn't work either so its really sounding like its the cable at the end of the day.

it sounds like the cable,i would peel back the shrink wrap on the black wire going to the white connector and make sure the black wire is still in place.Ive heard from pulling on it it just rips out enough to not connect.just thought i would throw that out there easy fix and you can save 100 bucks.
